Classic Cheeseburger
Summer has officially begun, which means it's time to kick back and relax outdoors with friends and good food. I like to entertain friends at home and want it to be a place where everyone feels welcome and well attended to. Even though I love to flood the table with food that takes me hours to prepare, at times I have to keep reminding myself that it is not always the food, but the good company and the time spent that make the best memories.
If you want to spend the maximum time outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather while entertaining friends, burgers are a great casual yet delicious meal. Though the thought of making them at home can seem daunting, take the time to craft your own and that extra effort will be worth it.
Tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, this Classic Cheeseburger is perfect for your next summer backyard BBQ party or gathering and is guaranteed to please everyone!
You do not require a lot of ingredients for this recipe. The secret to a great homemade hamburger is to use a good quality beef. That makes all the difference!
Which Meat Makes the Best Burgers?
When making burgers buy good quality ground beef that is about 80% lean and 20% fat. The fat adds a great texture and keeps the burger juicy and moist.

Recipe Notes
- Season the patties generously with salt and pepper just prior to cooking.
- Chilling the burger patties in the fridge for about 30 minutes before grilling helps in retaining their shape, and keeps them nice and juicy!
- Press an indentation into the center of all the patties with your thumb to prevent puffing up during cooking and to help them cook evenly.
- Resist the urge to press down on the burgers while they’re grilling. This just makes them dry.
