Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings
I am head-over-heels in love with food. The chemistry of turning raw ingredients into something beautiful and delicious gives me a sense of gratification. But nothing is greater than the joy of sharing food with my friends and loved ones. For me, it is an expression of love and affection. And, I am lucky to have found people around me who appreciate me and my cooking. The smiles that I see on their faces fill me with a beaming sense of pride and make my day.
The Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings are always loved and are a great hit among my guests. Crispy chicken wings tossed in a refreshing and zesty lemon garlic butter sauce that will have everyone swooning over. And the best part is that they are baked in the oven and not deep-fried, which means that you don't have to count the calories. Baking them takes a longer time, but once you put them in the oven, all you have to do is flip them over once halfway through cooking. Whether it is for game day, a gathering, or just a weeknight meal, these wings are sure to be a winner!
Even the baked version has that signature crispiness we all love and taste like the ones you get from a restaurant! Do you want to know the secret?
The secret ingredient to these baked yet crispy wings is the baking powder. Please make sure you are using BAKING POWDER and not baking soda, or it will ruin your batch. Drying the wings with a paper towel and then tossing them in the baking powder will result in the desired crunchy coating even without frying.
If you are in a hurry, you can also choose to fry them. For frying them, toss the wings in flour until each piece is well coated. Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry them until golden and crispy. Once your wings are done, toss them in the butter lemon-pepper sauce as directed in the recipe.
