It has been quite a while that I have started this blog, and I realized the other day that I have not shared a single dessert recipe with you yet. Honestly, we don’t have desserts too often in our house. I do not have a sweet tooth. Whenever there is a decision between sweet and savory, I pick savory every time. But I know, most people live for desserts and can have them even for dinner.

Yeah, I know that desserts can seem off-limits if you are dieting or you are trying to make some healthy food choices. You spend those extra hours at the gym and try to eat healthy throughout the day. But then you suddenly see a chocolate commercial and your craving for something sweet hits HARD. Curbing the urge can be difficult to fight, and these cravings can sometimes turn into uncontrollable or emotional eating.

Now you do not need to deprive yourself. You can fight your sweet cravings with this delicious Chocolate Chia Pudding. Made with chia seeds, milk, cocoa powder, and honey, this healthy pudding comes together in no time and is a treat for all the chocolate lovers! You can enjoy this any time of the day, as a filling breakfast, snack or, as a decadent dessert.

Health Benefits of Chia Seeds
  • Chia seeds contain antioxidants that help protect our cells from disease and damage.
  • The fiber and protein in chia seeds help you stay fuller for a long time, which can aid in weight loss.
  • With a high level of Omega-3 fatty acids, chia seeds may help reduce your risk of heart disease.

Tip: If you don’t like the tapioca consistency of this pudding and want a smoother, mousse-like texture, you can blend all the ingredients together in a blender until its smooth and then refrigerate.

Ingredients:
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3-4 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk(you can also use any kind of dairy-free milk)
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds

Instructions:
  1. In a bowl, add the cacao powder, honey, vanilla extract, milk, and chia seeds. Whisk together until all ingredients are combined.
  2. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator overnight or a minimum of 4 hours.
  3. Remove the chocolate chia seed pudding from the fridge and stir together with a spoon. Top with your favorite fruit, chocolate shavings, or whipped cream.
