Banana Nutella Crepes

Having grown up, watching movies, I have had always idolized Paris as the city of love. So, when in 2014, I visited Paris, it was like a dream-come-true moment for me. The Eiffel Tower twinkling in the night was the most romantic spectacle I had ever seen. After a delectable dinner, when the quest for having a dessert had intensified, I discovered that almost every street in Paris had a creperie waiting to serve a piping, hot crepe. Watching the crepes being cooked, whirled, and filled right in front of my eyes was a visual treat. The delicate, fluffy, crepes served with warm chocolate sauce, it was love at first bite!.

Crepes are soft, thin, and delicate French-style pancakes typically served for breakfast or dessert. So, what's in a basic crepe recipe? Traditionally, French crepes are prepared with just four basic ingredients, such as flour, milk, eggs, and butter. They are served with different sweet and savory toppings, but I normally like the sweet ones.

My favorite version is the Banana Nutella one. These crepes, stuffed with sliced bananas and slathered in Nutella, is incredibly decadent. Though they may sound fancy, these are so easy that I make them at home whenever I crave for something sweet. My husband(who is still a child at heart) gobbles them up as soon as they are out of the pan.

The secret of making soft, fluffy, and golden crepes lies in the batter. Make sure that the batter is smooth and lump-free. I would recommend resting it for at least 30 minutes before you start making the crepes. Allowing it to rest would allow any bubbles in the batter to escape and would result in crepes that melt in your mouth.

You can make these Banana Crepes Nutella for breakfast or easily turn them into a dessert by adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream to it and surprise your loved ones!
